The Scarab as an amulet of life and power; representing the rising sun, being a symbol of resurrection in Egyptian mythology, it provided protection against visible or invisible evil, giving daily strength and power, it was said that whoever carried it in death acquired the possibility of resurrection and being able to reach eternal life.
