THE POWER OF HANDWRITTEN LETTERS IN THE DIGITAL AGE - Writing Circle -
A letter is a way to keep someone's soul present, since through letters words and feelings remain forever.
My grandmother Consuelo comes to visit me through letters. With my grandmother Cony, as we affectionately called her, I had the privilege of having a very deep connection, letters being a great tool for that.
My interest in letters and stationery arose thanks to her. She had the most beautiful stationery with those lined envelopes that give them a very particular elegance, her perfect handwriting with impeccable handwriting. She often wrote me letters and with each gift she gave me she never missed the opportunity to write me another letter; I don't keep most of the gifts but I do keep her letters, which immortalized her at my side. They are among my greatest treasures.
My grandmother's visits through letters |
Every time I want to comfort myself, I open one of her letters and she comes to visit me automatically, she appears in each line that takes me to her gaze with those sweet words that made me feel like the most loved and fortunate girl, I can hear her voice in each word, feel her as if she were sitting next to me with that delicacy and prudence, feel her smell that many of the letters radiate since she perfumed some of them. So the power of the letters is a very powerful power of connection.
Writing allows you to connect in a more intimate and profound way, through it you can communicate, explore and access the true vision and feeling that you have about yourself and the people you intend to send each letter to. So being able to write gives you that space, connection and permanence in time that only letters can achieve while revealing the true feeling and image that you have of someone as well as of yourself.
