Acrylic Box Money Envelopes Piñata
The Mayan civilization practiced a blindfolded game of breaking a hanging clay pot filled with cocoa that can be traced back to a piñata, which originated in China and was common for New Year celebrations. Marco Polo took it to Italy where it later passed to Spain until it reached Mexico, turning it into an object of tradition. It acquired a religious meaning, with each spike representing the capital sins. Today it is a very traditional object in our festivals and traditions. The piñata is part of our series Mexico of my loves.
